Brown Bags
The PayPal Brown Bag series, sponsored by the GP&E Global Education Department,
provides a great opportunity for employees to learn what’s happening currently at
PayPal. In an effort to bring timely information to the entire organization, we ask
leaders, movers, and shakers to present on specific topics of interest to our employees.
Given people’s busy schedules and the even busier large meeting rooms
on campus, we’ve scheduled Brown Bag dates throughout 2012. Please refer to the
calendar for available dates. All sessions occur at lunchtime,12:00-1:00 pm PST at
the San Jose North Campus, and speakers should plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early.
Each presentation should be about 30-40 minutes long, allowing 10-15
minutes for Q&A. This typically equates to 10-15 slides. Presentations should be
directed at a strategic level and not give too much detail. Let us know what
your product or service is, who you’re marketing to, and how you’ll help PayPal
achieve our objectives. In order to schedule your session, we’ll need the following:
* A title, something that will catch your audience’s attention
* A short paragraph (3-4 sentences) describing the topic and enticing people to attend your session
* Speaker name(s), include 2 great speakers at most. We’ve found that multiple speakers are less
effective than 1 or 2 really great speakers, and logistics are difficult.
Two weeks prior to your scheduled session, we’ll need your 10-15 slide presentation.
If we don’t receive the presentation in sufficient time, we may need to postpone your session.
Invitations will be sent only after we have your presentation in hand.
Approximately one week prior to your session, we’ll schedule a dry run.
This is an opportunity for you to practice and ensure that your presentation runs smoothly.
If you have a topic or presentation that you think would be of interest to a wide range
of people at PayPal. Please click here to submit your Brown Bag topic.
